Cacti is an open-source network monitoring and visualization software that can visualize RRDtool-based time-series data via web-based interface. Cacti can be configured with poll-based simple network management protocol (SNMP) to collect time-series statistics on servers, switches or routers, and to generate graphs for real-time monitoring or long-term analysis. Cacti can provide monitoring on systems properties of individual servers (e.g., available RAM, CPU load, bandwidth), or incoming/outgoing traffic of individual network interfaces, etc. The monitoring capability of Cacti can be extended via custom shell scripts and executables. Visualization interface is also highly customizable by using various built-in or custom graphing templates.
